ANTI-NEW YEAR MANIFESTO PRAYER- A CALL TO ACTIVE REST TO READDRESS SOCIETAL IDEAS OF SUCCESS
3/2/22 by Francesca Filippa
May we joyfully burn down burn out culture and hard work that hurts.
And Build a Sustainable Container for Soul-Centered Labour.
Let us compost working at the cost of our creativity, health and relationships.
May we not be afraid to keep looking at this hard truth: toxic productivity enmeshes our career, status and work with our worth.
It’s only going to get worse until we get wise to the insidious lie that we have TO BE A SOMEBODY to thrive.
Remember your worth was bestowed at birth, shame on those who taught you that your belonging was a transaction to serve their satisfaction.
Disempower those who overpowered your inner authority by forcing you to work to preserve your life
Let us love to look at all the ways our energy and attention has been habitually hooked and duped.
Let us stop complaining and start reframing.
We must radically remember our greatest resource is our life force.
We must dis-identify with the importance we place on what we do for a living, as it’s rooted in overworking and over-giving.
We must re-identify ourselves as a lifeforce not a workforce.
We must refuse to be overused and take the taskmasters to task by taking off the “efficient worker” mask like it’s a worthy badge.
May we unwind from grind and hustle and start to tune into our soul muscles.
Soul works in cycles and keeps us vital unlike the ego competing for assets and titles
Self-serving individualism has become the modern day religion.
We have lost our way but we can find our way.
Does anyone truly feel served by this fake faith that has severed us from sacred ways?
May we not become inactive in shame and despair, let us each repair in small ways with care.
Let us categorically refuse to be victims of an extractive, exploitative white supremacist capitalist system, and start to value the cycles and sensitivities of everybody’s nervous systems
May we learn how to cease being a martyr to man-made time and begin to be the sacred protector of natural cyclical life.
Instead of looking to the poisoner to save us, may we be the elixir the divine gave us!
Let us RE-learn how to align with the ebbs and flows of our unique and collective natural rhythms.
Let us create and partake in restorative rituals and routines that slow time down so we can engage in deeper more nourishing work instead of panicked disassociation and mindless consumption leaving no room for pleasure and creation.
May we replace productive deadlines with creative lifelines.
May We Manifest from a Place of Rest instead of Stress.
May we recognise and use the power in these times to re-design our work around our lives.
We must collectively clean the slate for a whole new way of living and being.
Let us return to the way of the slow burn.
To the elders ways we return.
Let us do the repair work that is hard to make way for a new age of work that has heart.
Meaningful lives take time to nurture and grow.
First the most important thing is to say no to what is not soul.
Boundaries.
Our collective exhaustion needs to be the final red flag, we must move together to co-create positive socio-cultural change or be dragged and forced by climate change.
Like the land we need to rest.
Please stop saying rest is productive, this is reductive and inherently implies rest is some sort of reward so we can do more.
The Art of The Slow Burn Life is steeped in gold of old.
Let us readdress and redefine the meaning of the word success.
SUSTAINABLE process is how we will now live, move and dress.
None of us want to be in this mess.
Stop trying to be the best, this is a distraction, a harmful test.
Forget self-centered new year’s resolutions we need societal SOUL-UTIONS.
Let us seed intentions that inform new norms and commit to them with integrity to sustain lives that are lovable and long.
Let us cease to conflate productivity with purpose. Slow down, there is a deeper calling that is longing to be nurtured.
First, let us grieve the false sense of achievements we believed would set us free.
By resting our weary bodies like dying leaves on the earth, let us collectively compost and make space for the sustainable creative lives we have always deserved.
