Full Moon Eclipse in Sagittarius - Blood Moon.

This blog is dedicated to marginalised peoples in an effort to keep speaking up and out for the freedom and healing of Jewish and Black communities. 

ASTROLOGICAL CONTEXT

This is the third of four eclipses in sagittarius that began on June 5th 2020. The themes around this eclipse are not new, we have been feeling them ripple since last summer. If you think back, this is when the Black Lives Matter Movement became global news. Eclipses bring fated events, hidden truths to light and usher in pivotal, personal and collective change as they work alongside the nodes.

What are the nodes?  

The nodes represent three things- karma, destiny and evolution. The south node (karma) is in sagittarius where this full lunar eclipse is occurring. The south node is symbolic of the individual and collective unserving karma that we are releasing and shedding. The north node is in gemini (destiny) where the second eclipse is occurring in 2 weeks time and relates to where we are destined to move towards individually and collectively. More on the latter in the next blog in 2 weeks.

If you are currently exhausted do not fret, this is the energy of this eclipse…it’s a spiritual, psychological and emotional clearing. As this moon is a total eclipse where there is no light in sight, it is not about manifesting or truth-seeking, it’s about truth-facing and truth-releasing. This is why practising ritual is so beautiful and therapeutic as it brings our feelings into our hands to make art with our human process. Art is healing. It helps us stay and play and pray instead of turning away. I have created a really simple, grounding, releasing ritual for this where we will be working with the earth element of nature.

Instead of spiralling down a black hole of old stories I am going to offer you wisdom practices steeped in soul with the intention of reminding you that you are whole.

SAGITTARIUS AND THE UNIVERSAL TRUTH

To have the eclipse occur in sagittarius is PROFOUND. Because Sagittarius is deeply concerned with two things- HIGHER TRUTH and FREEDOM. Sagittarius in its highest expression is a brave sage who in the quest for truth and self actualisation has become enlightened and humbled by the higher universal truths of life. Sagittarius does not judge others, wants us all to be free and fulfil our highest spiritual potential in this lifetime.

Sagittarius in its lowest, shadow expression resists evolution altogether, spiritually bypasses trauma and is only concerned with its own egoic truth, stuck in its ways, rooted in dogma and rigid outdated belief systems. 

We only need to look to current world affairs to see that in order to evolve in a positive direction- (sagittarius is a very optimistic archetype) we are having to see and face some really hard truths about the state of collective consciousness. These times of despair are forcing us to do one thing- ALCHEMISE OUR DESPAIR into acts of COMMUNITY CARE and stand like we never have before for what is FAIR. 

SAGITTARIUS EMBODIED WISDOM 

I have 3 planets in sagittarius in the same house in my chart so Hunter And Her is the embodiment of sagittarius energy. The logo and manifesto are fully inspired by the higher truth seeking nature of the Sagittarius archetype. 

Sagittarius is the archer with a bow and arrow journeying far and wide to create a life of meaning that is anything beyond shallow. Hunter And Her seeks and speaks and stands for Love and Truth. I truly believe this is how we will positively evolve to build a better world.

A H.U.N.T.E.R. stands for a Human’s Unique Nurtured Truth Expressed Rawly and Humanity’s Universal Nurtured Truth Evolves Radically. 

I pose this question which is what we will be discussing as a community on Wednesday after the ritual.

Are you able to let the light of your soul’s unique truth be your biggest success even when it doesn’t match up to the rest?

This question was inspired by a really uncomfortable truth I had to sit with on what being a woman means over the last month. My truth is not simple. It is complex and nuanced-very gemini.

Alongside speaking up and out on racism I am passionate about Hunter And Her dismantling gender inequality and society’s expectation of a woman’s role and purpose. I had planned to release a blog on this today but it doesn’t feel right after last night’s news of BLM activist Sasha Johnson who was critically injured in Peckham 15 mins walk from where I live. I feel I will release the blog on gender inequality but I don’t know when, regardless, I will share my complex truth in The Cocoon with the community. 

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Now I leave you with this quote from Black Feminist Writer Bell Hooks- 

“We have been taught to believe that the mind, not the heart is the seat of learning.”

Hunter And Her is all about moving from head centred to heart centred living. From who we think we should be to who we really are.

I believe T.R.U.T.H. is The Raw Unique/Universal Teachings of Heart. 

It’s incredibly difficult to move through intense change when we are alone spinning stories on loop in our heads. When we take the time and space to connect to our heart and the hearts of others we open ourselves up to the healing medicine of conscious Human Connection.

Sharing our heart’s truth with other like-hearted souls really does set us free. This is a big week/month. I invite you to come rest in The Cocoon nest.
